Privacy Policy
Last updated May 20, 2026
Farmark is a family calendar and household display service. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle the family schedule data you trust us with.
1. Who We Are
Farmark is the controller of the personal information described in this policy when we decide why and how it is processed.
You can contact Farmark at [email protected] or [email protected].
2. Information We Collect
- Account information: email address, password hash, family name, account role, subscription status, trial dates, and account settings.
- Family setup information: family member names or labels, assigned colors, display preferences, widget choices, location used for weather, and household settings.
- Calendar and reminder information: event titles, dates, times, locations, notes, descriptions, recurrence details, source calendar names, reminder text, and related metadata you add or choose to import.
- Connected calendar information: selected iCal, ICS, and supported Google Calendar identifiers, sync status, provider metadata, and read-only calendar events from sources you connect.
- OAuth and access data: access tokens, refresh tokens, expiration data, granted scopes, and connection records needed to keep calendar sync working. We store sensitive tokens encrypted.
- Device and security information: sign-in sessions, display pairing records, browser/device information, IP-derived security metadata, audit events, rate-limit events, and logs needed to operate and protect Farmark.
- Billing information: subscription status, plan, trial status, and payment processor identifiers. Payment card details are handled by our payment processor, not stored directly by Farmark.
- Support and access communications: email addresses, access requests, support requests, account identifiers, and information you choose to share when asking for help.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to provide and protect Farmark, including to:
- show your family calendar, reminders, widgets, weather, and household display;
- sync read-only events from connected iCal, ICS, and supported Google Calendar sources you choose;
- hide or limit private event details when privacy settings are enabled;
- authenticate accounts, pair displays, prevent abuse, and secure family data;
- provide support, troubleshoot bugs, and maintain service reliability;
- respond to access requests, support requests, and product questions;
- process subscriptions, trials, cancellations, invoices, taxes, and payment status;
- comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms, and respond to lawful requests.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use family calendar content for advertising, ad targeting, data broker activity, credit decisions, or unrelated profiling.
4. Legal Bases For Processing
If privacy law requires a legal basis, Farmark processes personal information under one or more of the following bases:
- Contract: to provide Farmark, sync calendars you connect, manage accounts, provide support, and process subscriptions.
- Consent: when you connect a calendar, request access, or grant optional permissions that can be withdrawn.
- Legitimate interests: to secure Farmark, prevent abuse, troubleshoot bugs, improve reliability, and understand basic service usage without selling data or using calendar content for advertising.
- Legal obligations: to comply with tax, billing, security, legal process, and other applicable requirements.
5. Google Calendar Data
If you connect Google Calendar, Farmark accesses Google user data only to provide user-facing calendar features you request, such as importing selected calendars and displaying events in your Farmark account.
Farmark uses Google Calendar data to show your household schedule, support calendar widgets, help generate day summaries, troubleshoot sync issues, and protect the service. Farmark stores connected calendar records, selected calendar identifiers, event data, sync metadata, and encrypted OAuth tokens as needed to keep those features working.
Farmark shares Google user data only with service providers as needed to operate, secure, and support Farmark; when required by law; or as otherwise described in this policy. Farmark does not transfer Google Calendar data to advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers.
Farmark's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Humans do not review Google Calendar content except when you ask for support that requires it, when necessary to investigate security or abuse, when required by law, or when the information has been aggregated or de-identified so it no longer identifies you or your family.
6. iCal And Shared Calendar URLs
If you add an iCal or ICS feed, Farmark stores and uses that URL or file data to fetch and display calendar events. You are responsible for adding only calendar feeds you are allowed to access and share with your Farmark family account.
Shared calendar URLs can act like passwords. If an iCal URL is exposed outside Farmark, rotate or disable it in the source calendar service.
7. How We Share Information
We share information only as needed to operate Farmark:
- with infrastructure, hosting, database, email, analytics, error monitoring, support, and payment vendors that help us provide the service;
- with Google, Stripe, Cloudflare, calendar providers, and similar providers when you connect accounts, use billing, or access protected app features;
- when required by law, subpoena, court order, or legal process;
- to protect users, Farmark, or others from fraud, abuse, security threats, or unlawful activity;
- as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to continued protection of user data.
Vendors are expected to process information only for Farmark's service purposes and under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.
8. Security
Farmark uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including HTTPS, authentication controls, tenant-scoped access checks, audit logging, encrypted sensitive fields, and encrypted calendar tokens.
Sensitive stored values are encrypted with AES-256-GCM. Family-scoped content uses separate 256-bit data keys, and searchable private fields use keyed blind indexes where practical.
Session tokens and passwords are stored as one-way hashes, not plaintext secrets.
No online service can guarantee perfect security, but protecting household calendar data is a core product requirement for us.
More detail is available on our Security page.
9. Data Retention And Deletion
We keep account and calendar data while your account is active or as needed to provide Farmark. We may also retain limited records as needed for security, backups, legal compliance, tax, billing, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and enforcement of our Terms.
If a subscription is canceled, expires, or becomes past due, we keep app account data for at least 30 days so you can reactivate without rebuilding your household setup. After 90 days without reactivation, we may delete or anonymize app account data that is no longer needed to provide the service.
You can disconnect calendar integrations in Farmark or through the calendar provider's own account settings. You can request account deletion, data deletion, or data export from Farmark Settings or by emailing [email protected] from the email address associated with your account.
We aim to complete verified deletion requests within 30 days unless a longer period is needed for billing, tax, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal compliance, or abuse investigation.
After deletion, some information may remain in backups for up to 90 days, in metadata-first security and audit logs for up to 2 years, and in billing, tax, accounting, chargeback, or payment processor records for up to 7 years or longer if required by law.
10. Children And Family Use
Farmark is a parent-managed household organization tool. It is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not create their own Farmark account. Parents and guardians are responsible for deciding what family member names, calendar events, reminders, and household information are added to Farmark.
11. Your Choices
- You can choose which calendars to connect and which calendars to import.
- You can disconnect iCal, ICS, and supported Google Calendar sources.
- You can update family members, event assignments, reminders, widgets, and display settings.
- You can request access, correction, deletion, or export of your information by contacting us.
- You can cancel or reactivate your subscription through Farmark billing tools or by contacting support.
12. U.S. State Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of certain personal information. Farmark does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a privacy request, email [email protected].
13. EEA, UK, And Swiss Privacy Rights
If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a portable copy of your personal information. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
Farmark is based in the United States. If personal information is transferred internationally, we use appropriate safeguards where required by law and require service providers to protect personal information consistently with this policy.
You may contact us at [email protected] to exercise these rights. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
14. Cookies And Local Storage
The public Farmark landing site currently uses local browser storage to remember the light or dark theme you choose. Farmark does not use family calendar content for advertising, and the public landing site is not designed around behavioral advertising cookies.
If Farmark adds non-essential analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies, this policy is updated and consent controls are provided where required by law.
15. Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Farmark changes. If changes are material, we will provide notice through the service, by email, or by posting an updated policy with a new effective date.
