How To Use An iPad As A Kitchen Family Calendar
An iPad can make a very good family calendar display if the setup is simple enough that people actually leave it open.
Why an iPad works well
A tablet is already a screen, battery, browser, and touch interface in one device. Farmark runs in the browser, so you can use an older iPad, a current iPad, or another tablet without buying a dedicated wall calendar.
The trick is not the hardware. The trick is putting the calendar where the day happens and making it easy to reopen.
Basic setup
- Open home.farmarkapp.com in Safari.
- Sign in and set up your family members, colors, widgets, and home location.
- Use Add to Home Screen so Farmark has its own icon.
- Put the iPad on a stand near the kitchen counter, entryway, or homework spot.
- Use Wall Art mode when the calendar is meant to stay open.
What to show first
Start with the calendar, weather, reminders, and Smart Summary. Add photos or Daily Devotion if those fit your house. If the display starts feeling crowded, hide a widget before you shrink the calendar.
Good habits
- Keep the iPad plugged in if it is the main household display.
- Turn off sleep settings that make the calendar disappear during family hours.
- Use private events when a title should not show on a shared screen.
- Pair the display from a phone if you do not want to type a password on the iPad.
