Fix calendar and photo import problems

Find your problem below. Each fix uses the names you see in Farmark.

“We couldn’t add that calendar”

  • Check that you copied the whole link. Use the calendar link, not the web page address.
  • Make sure the calendar is still shared. If you turned off Public Calendar or changed the link, copy a new one.
  • Try again with Import, or choose Upload .ics file instead.

Farmark may say:

  • That doesn’t look like a calendar link: the text isn’t a web or webcal address. Calendar links start with webcal:// or https:// and usually end in .ics.
  • That link opened a web page, not a calendar: you pasted a web page address. Use the calendar’s subscribe or iCal link.
  • That calendar is private: for Apple, turn on Public Calendar. For Google, copy the Secret address in iCal format. Then paste that link.
  • We couldn’t open that link. The calendar wasn’t found: check that you copied the whole subscription link. We couldn’t find that website: check the link for typos, or copy it again from your calendar app.
  • We couldn’t reach that calendar right now: check the link, or try again in a few minutes.
  • That calendar is too large for Farmark to import: try a smaller calendar, such as one school or team.
  • This calendar is already added: Farmark says to find it under Details in Calendar settings.

“That calendar has no upcoming events”

Farmark says: That calendar has no upcoming events. Try another calendar or a photo. It only finds events that are coming up. Check that the original calendar has future events.

Events are missing

  • Open SettingsCalendars and choose Sync now.
  • A file you uploaded does not update by itself. Upload a new .ics file.
  • Before your trial starts, calendars don’t update automatically.

Events are under the wrong person

Choose the event, then pick the right person. Turning on Let Smart Setup organize events by person in SettingsCalendars can sort future imports.

Events show twice

You may have added the same link twice. Farmark says: This link is already added for this person, so its events show twice. Keep one copy of the calendar for that person. In SettingsCalendars, choose Remove next to the extra copy. See Remove a calendar.

A photo can’t be read

  • Try a brighter, straighter photo with the whole page in view.
  • For a PDF, Farmark reads up to the first three pages.
  • If Farmark says This browser could not read that HEIC photo, take a screenshot or save the photo as a JPG, PNG, or WebP.
  • If the review expired, start again with the same photo. Nothing was saved or charged.
  • If you still can’t get a clear result, crop closer to the schedule in your phone’s photo app.

Photo Import limit messages

  • You’ve used your 5 free trial photo imports this month. Activate a full subscription to unlock 50 photo imports per month.
  • You’ve used your 50 photo imports this month. Photo imports reset next month.
  • Several recent photos had no calendar events. Please wait and try again tomorrow. This happens after five photos in a row with no events in one day.

A screen still shows old events

Refresh the page once. Paired displays update on their own, but a refresh helps if one looks out of date. See Show Farmark on a shared display.
