What it is
Family Setup is the first part of setup. You create an account, name your family, and add one schedule: a photo or PDF, or one calendar. Farmark then shows your week as a read-only preview. The trial starts only when you choose Start your 14-day free trial.
On farmarkapp.com, choose Start your free trial to begin. The full steps are in Start your 14-day trial.
Who can use it
- It is for households that have never subscribed, and it covers one import. Farmark decides for each household, so it may not be offered. If it isn’t, step 4 is skipped and step 5 says Start your trial to set up your calendar.
- If you already have Farmark, opening setup takes you straight to your calendar.
- If this household can’t use it, step 4 is skipped and step 5 says Start your trial to set up your calendar. If the preview has run out, step 5 says Your preview ended.
Add a schedule photo
At First calendar, choose Snap a schedule photo
Choose Choose schedule file
You can use a JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, or PDF.
Choose Read this schedule
Look over the events Farmark found, fix anything that is wrong, and add them
Tip
A bright, straight photo with the whole page in view works best. A PDF can have several pages, but Farmark reads up to the first three.
Good to know
Photos are read with AI. Farmark does not save your original photo or the AI’s raw answer. If you leave a review unfinished, Farmark keeps a temporary encrypted draft of the events it found, not the photo, for up to 7 days. The 7 days start over while you keep the review open. See the Privacy Policy for how photos are handled.
Add a calendar instead
Choose Google Calendar, Apple or iCal link, iPhone Calendar (iPhone app only), or Upload a .ics file. You can pick one before your trial starts. Steps are in Add a calendar.
If a link has no events
If a calendar link has no upcoming events, Farmark says: That calendar has no upcoming events. Try another calendar or a photo.
How many photo reads you get
You get up to 5 photo reads. A photo read that finds no events uses one. A read that fails does not. If a calendar link has no upcoming events, Farmark tells you and you can try another.
When all 5 are used, Farmark says “You’ve used all your photo tries for now. Add your calendar with a link or .ics file instead, or contact us at hello@farmarkapp.com and we’ll help.”
There is also a separate daily limit on this try-before-you-pay photo read, to protect the photo reader. Farmark allows up to 5 photo-read starts in any 24 hours. A read that fails still counts toward that limit. If several tries in a row fail, wait a day or add the calendar by link or .ics file instead.
If you reach the daily limit, Farmark says “You’ve reached today’s limit for reading photos. Try again tomorrow, or add your calendar with a link or .ics file instead.”
If Farmark can’t read it
- We could not find clear events. Try a brighter, straighter photo with the whole page visible, or import a calendar with upcoming events.
- That source could not be read. Nothing was charged and your calendar was not changed. Try the same photo again, use a clearer shot, or import a calendar instead.
- That review expired safely. Temporary drafts clear after about a week without activity. Nothing was saved or charged. Start again with the same photo or calendar.
After you see your week
Choose Start your 14-day free trial to keep it. Card required, no charge today. $2.99/month after the trial.
Farmark keeps your preview for 30 days. If you haven’t started the trial by then, the events from your first import are removed. You can choose Download my events (.ics) to keep a copy.
